1. School of Foreign Languages and Literatures
Established in 1947 at Lanzhou University, SFLL offers undergraduate courses in English, Russian, Japanese, German, and French. It also has master’s programs in related language and literature areas. With over 120 Chinese and 20 international teachers, it trains students in foreign language skills and cultural understanding.
2. Lanzhou University
Administered by China’s Ministry of Education, LZU is a top “Double First – Class” university. It has around 20,600 undergraduates and 20,500 postgraduates. LZU is strong in arts, sciences, engineering, agriculture, and medicine. Its four top – tier disciplines are chemistry, atmospheric science, ecology, and pastoral agricultural science.
3. Lanzhou City and Gansu Province
Lanzhou, Gansu’s capital, is centrally located in China and was crucial on the Silk Road. The Yellow River flows through it, and it offers great food such as Beef Noodles. It serves as a good starting point for day – trips to other parts of Gansu. Gansu, in northwest China, spans three plateaus and two river basins. It has diverse landscapes and rich cultures. Lonely Planet named it one of Asia’s top 10 travel spots in 2018.
