I. Introduction to CNU

Chongqing Normal University, founded in 1954, is one of the earliest higher normal universities established in the new China. Its history dates back to the establishment of the government-run Public Eastern Sichuan Normal School in 1906. In 1986 it was approved to confer master’s degrees, and in 2017 it was authorized to recommend students for postgraduate admission without exams. In 2018, the University was granted the right to confer doctoral degrees. The University possesses three campuses covering a total area of 2,688 mu (approximately 1793 hectares), and has affiliated kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools. In its 17 secondary colleges and 5 directly affiliated colleges, there are more than 34,000 students enrolled, including over 25,000 full-time undergraduates, more than 8,100 graduate students (candidates for master’s and doctoral degrees), and nearly 500 international students.Adhering to the talent-driven strategy, the University continually fosters a talent ecosystem that attracts talent from across the country and all over the world. It employs nearly 2,200 faculty and staff members, with over 900 holding senior academic titles, nearly 1,000 with doctoral degrees, and more than 1,000 serving as doctoral and master’s supervisors. The University has a comprehensive disciplinary construction system that incorporates 12 disciplines, including philosophy, law, economics, education, literature, science, and interdisciplinary studies. It offers 4 first-class doctoral programs, 24 first-class master’s degree programs, 20 professional master’s degree programs, and 74 undergraduate programs. In addition to 1 first-class discipline of municipal level, 18 key disciplines according to the 14th Five-Year Plan, and 4 “AI+” discipline clusters, the University has 6 preponderant discipline clusters, including mathematics and information science, and teacher education, with 4 disciplines ranked among the world top 1% according to the ESI rating. It also has 3 projects included in the first batch of national-level new liberal arts research and practical reform projects.

Over the past decade, the University has been approved for more than 470 national-level projects, including 21 national major and key projects, having published more than 3,900 high-quality research papers, including more than 70 ESI hot papers and highly cited papers, and over 270 high-level monographs, and received over 110 provincial and national research awards, including the second prize of the National Natural Science Award and the first prize of the Ministry of Education Natural Science Award. It has 59 research platforms of provincial or national level, including one of the first National Applied Mathematics Centers and the “111 Plan” Base for Innovation in Optimization and Control Disciplines, as well as 28 municipal-level research teams, providing a strong support for talent gathering.

(I) High-level talent and creative teams from home and abroad
The University is open and ready to accept high-level talent and creative teams from home and abroad all year round.
01 Classification of high-level talent
 Level 1Domestic and foreign top talents who are international academic leaders, have abilities and experience in leading high-level scientific research teams, and are able to lead respective disciplines to reach or maintain internationally advanced level.

② Level 2

Domestic and foreign leading talents who are domestic academic leaders, have abilities and experience in leading high-level scientific research teams, are able to lead respective disciplines to reach or maintain domestically advanced level, and, as a rule, have an age of no more than 55 years old.

③ Level 3

National-level young talents and domestic or foreign outstanding talents who have independent scientific research ability and stable research orientations, and possess the potential to become academic leaders in relevant fields, and, as a rule, have an age of no more than 45 years old (natural sciences) or 50 years old (humanities & social sciences).

④ Level 4 

Provincial or ministerial-level talents and domestic or foreign outstanding talents who have relatively high academic reputation in respective fields of the discipline, and, as a rule, have an age of no more than 45 years old (natural sciences) or 50 years old (humanities & social sciences).

⑤ Level 5

High-level technicians who hold doctoral degrees and senior professional titles, possess great potential for innovative development, and, as a rule, have an age of no more than 40 years old (natural sciences) or 45 years old (humanities & social sciences).

02 Benefits for introduced high-level talent
① Entitlement to regular staff establishment of the public institution;② Entitlement to salaries and benefits according to relevant national, municipal and the University’s regulations; annual remuneration for talents of level 1-3;

④In case of teams, high-end talents and special talents in urgent need for the development of the University, subject to determination on a case-to-case basis. A combination of full-time employment and flexible introduction is applied. (II) High-level talent for Chongqing National Center for Applied Mathematics
Chongqing National Center for Applied Mathematics remains open throughout the year to leading talents, outstanding young professionals and academic leaders in specialized technical fields such as operations research, applied mathematics, computational mathematics, graph theory, probability and statistics, statistics, machine learning, and computer technology.In addition to benefits set forth in the talent introduction policy for talents introduced in the same period, high-level talents of full-time employment with Chongqing National Center for Applied Mathematics are further entitled to scientific research funds, settling-in allowance and increments to annual remuneration. Such talents will also be included in the special talent pool of the Center, and thus be additionally entitled to benefits from relevant policies applicable to Chongqing National Center for Applied Mathematics as a “special talent zone” in Western (Chongqing) Science City.

(III) Classification of jobs for PhDs
In 2025, recruitment of the University is primarily intended to engage a batch of outstanding PhDs.
01 Classification of jobs for PhDs
For PhDs, there are teaching and research positions, and other positions (such as counselor and others). PhDs for teaching and research positions are classified into A, B, C and D categories. PhDs of Category A are required to be under 40 years old; PhDs of other categories to be under 35 years old; the age restriction can be loosened for those with senior professional titles. Under equal conditions, candidates with postdoctoral research experience are preferred. Specific positions available in 2025 are shown below.
