Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in School of Philosophy, Nanjing University, 2025

The School of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Nanjing University (NJU) is widely recognized to be amongst the best in China. We offer a wide range of courses in various branches of philosophy, with strengths in Marxist philosophy, Chinese philosophy, Western philosophy, philosophy of science and technology, logic, ethics, religious studies, and Oriental philosophy and religions.

The School is home to some prestigious research centers and institutes, including the Center for Studies of Marxist Social Theory, the Diane and Guilford Glazer Institute of Jewish and Israel Studies, the Center for Studies of Confucianism Daoism Buddhism and Traditional Chinese Culture, Institute of Modern Logic and Application, Institute for Phenomenology, etc.

We now have 4 tenure-track associate professors and/or tenure-track assistant professors positions available (the number of positions which for tenure-track associate professors should not exceed 1 in principle). Specific fields of research open for recruitment are:

7. Philosophy of Science and Technology

8. Eastern Philosophy and Religions

The applicant should

1. abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, and have a passion for teaching and research;

2. abide by the ethics of teachers, uphold academic integrity, be willing to work diligently, and have no criminal record or record in breaching the ethics of teachers and/or academic integrity;

3. have a first-rate background in academic training—specifically, a PhD in relevant disciplines, experience in studying and/or working at first-rate teaching and research institutions, and knowledge of the latest international trends and development in the relevant research field(s)；

4. have outstanding teaching abilities—the applicant should be able to teach core and frontline courses in the corresponding discipline, and have sound teaching methodology and strong verbal skills;

5. demonstrate outstanding research output and potential—the applicant should have publications in his/her field of research, original ideas about relevant fields of research, a clear vision about future research plans, and good potential for further academic development;

6. be in good health.

3.Three representative papers (The representative works submitted for review are generally papers or monographs that have been officially published in journals or have been published online and have DOI numbers);

3.Other relevant attachments that demonstrate academic achievement.
