2021年 6月 25 日下午， 美国计算机科学家、 图灵奖获得者、 中国政府友谊奖获得者、 中国科学院外籍院士约翰·霍普克罗夫特（John Hopcroft） 教授访问复旦大学， 徐雷副校长代表学校出面接待， 国际合作与交流处卢丽安处长参与会谈。
双方就提升高校本科生教学质量、培养下一代创新型人才等议题进行了交流,并深入探讨了高校计算机专业优秀教师奖励计划在提升计算机专业教学相关工作方面带来的影响，推动中国计算机专业教学质量的整体提升。
高校计算机专业优秀教师奖励计划（以下简称奖励计划）由约翰·霍普克罗夫特教授和中国工程院院士高文教授共同发起，在教育部的指导和支持下，由部分具有重要社会影响力的高科技企业共同向中国教师发展基金会捐资设立，以促进中国高等教育质量的提升。这是一个民间设立、企业支持、政府指导的公益性奖励计划。奖励计划于2018年开始在C9高校试点实施，随后推广到其它学校，得到各高校的积极响应。

In the afternoon of June 25, Professor John Hopcroft, an American computer scientist, Turing Award winner, Chinese Government Friendship Award recipient and foreign academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited Fudan University, and was received by Vice President Xu Lei on behalf of the university.
The two sides exchanged views on improving the quality of undergraduate teaching in universities and cultivating the next generation of innovative talents, and discussed in depth the impact of the Outstanding Teacher Award Program for Computer Science in Universities in improving the work related to teaching in computer science and promoting the overall improvement of the quality of teaching in computer science in China.
The Outstanding Teachers of Computing in Higher Education Award Program (hereinafter referred to as the Award Program) was initiated by Professor John Hopcroft and Professor Gao Wen, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, with the guidance and support of the Ministry of Education, and established by some high-tech enterprises with significant social influence who jointly donated funds to the China Teacher Development Foundation to promote the quality of higher education in China. This is a public benefit award program established by the private sector, supported by enterprises and guided by the government. The award program started to be implemented in C9 universities on a pilot basis in 2018, and then extended to other schools, receiving positive responses from universities.
